Privacy Policy
What actually happens to your information when you visit, buy or get in touch.
Last updated 9 September 2026
Benny Tools is operated from Queensland, Australia.
I believe privacy policies should explain what actually happens rather than require a law degree to understand them.
This policy explains how personal information may be handled when you visit get.benny.tools, purchase a product or contact me.
1. Information I may receive
Depending on how you interact with Benny Tools, I may receive or process information such as:
- your name;
- your email address;
- products you have purchased;
- order and transaction references;
- licence or entitlement information;
- support messages and correspondence;
- refund requests;
- information you voluntarily provide when contacting me; and
- basic technical information associated with operating and securing the website.
I try to collect only information reasonably required to run Benny Tools, deliver products, help customers and maintain the service.
2. Payment information
Payments are handled through Polar, which acts as merchant of record.
Polar and its payment providers process the information necessary to complete your transaction.
Benny Tools does not need to receive or store your complete payment-card number in order to fulfil your purchase.
Payment information handled by Polar and its payment providers is also governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.
3. Why information is used
Personal information may be used to:
- deliver products you have purchased;
- identify your purchases and entitlements;
- provide access to downloads or services;
- respond to questions and support requests;
- process or assist with refunds;
- prevent fraud and abuse;
- troubleshoot problems;
- maintain and secure the website;
- understand how products and the website are being used;
- maintain business, tax and transaction records;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- communicate important information relating to a product you have purchased.
I will not use personal information for a completely unrelated purpose unless I have a lawful reason to do so.
4. Marketing
If I send optional marketing communications, I will do so where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Marketing emails will include a reasonable way to unsubscribe.
Transactional messages relating to purchases, security, access, refunds or important product information are not marketing messages.
5. Website information and cookies
Like most websites, Benny Tools and the services used to operate it may process basic technical information when you visit.
This can include things such as:
- IP address;
- browser and device type;
- pages requested;
- referring pages;
- timestamps;
- error and security logs; and
- cookies or similar browser technologies required for the site or connected services to function.
Basic analytics may also be used to understand how the site is performing and which parts are useful.
Third-party services such as Polar may use their own cookies and similar technologies when you interact with their services.
6. Service providers
I use third-party services where needed to operate Benny Tools.
These may include providers for:
- payments and checkout;
- product delivery;
- website hosting;
- infrastructure;
- analytics;
- email or communications;
- software repositories;
- authentication;
- fraud prevention; and
- other technical services required by individual products.
These providers may process information on my behalf or independently under their own terms and privacy policies.
Polar, for example, processes purchases as merchant of record and uses payment-processing infrastructure to complete transactions.
7. Overseas processing
Some of the technology providers used by Benny Tools operate outside Australia.
As a result, personal information may be processed or stored in countries outside Australia, including the United States, and other jurisdictions in which relevant service providers operate.
The privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from Australian law.
Where Australian privacy law applies to me, I will take the steps required by that law when dealing with overseas service providers.
8. Selling personal information
I do not sell or rent customer personal information as a business model.
Information may be disclosed where reasonably required to operate Benny Tools, complete transactions, provide products, protect the service or comply with the law.
9. How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected or for legitimate operational, accounting, taxation, security, dispute-resolution or legal requirements.
Different types of information may therefore be retained for different periods.
Information that is no longer reasonably required will be deleted, de-identified or otherwise dealt with appropriately where required.
10. Security
I take reasonable steps to protect information under my control from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and I cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.
If I become aware of a data incident, I will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law.
11. Access and correction
If I hold personal information about you, you can ask what information I hold or ask me to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete.
For customers, the easiest contact route is through Your Purchases.
If you have not made a purchase, you can use any contact method published on get.benny.tools.
I may need to verify your identity before providing access to personal information.
12. Privacy complaints
If you believe I have handled your personal information incorrectly, contact me first.
Explain the issue and I will investigate it and try to resolve it reasonably.
Where Australian privacy law applies, you may also have the right to make a complaint to the relevant Australian privacy regulator if the matter cannot be resolved directly.
13. Third-party links and services
Benny Tools may link to or integrate with third-party websites, APIs, AI models, repositories or other services.
Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
You should consider the information you provide to those services, particularly when connecting a Benny Tools product to your own accounts, APIs, data or credentials.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the website, products or services change.
The current version will always show its last-updated date.
If a change materially affects how existing customer information is handled, I will take reasonable steps to communicate that change where appropriate.
15. Australian privacy law
This policy is intended to describe Benny Tools' information-handling practices clearly and transparently.
Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles apply to Benny Tools, personal information will be handled consistently with those applicable requirements.
Nothing in this policy is intended to reduce any privacy rights you have under applicable law.
16. Contact
For purchase-related privacy questions, support or requests, use Your Purchases.
That route reaches me directly.
