Refund Policy

Ask and you get one.

That is basically the refund policy.

Digital goods are awkward to return, so there is no clever policy here.

If a product was not what you expected, that is worth more to me as feedback than the sale was.

You do not need to construct an argument, prove you did not like it or spend three days going backwards and forwards with support.

Tell me what happened and ask for a refund.

How to request a refund

Use the contact route in Your Purchases.

That reaches me directly.

If you can, tell me what did not work for you. You do not have to write an essay, the feedback just helps me make the product better.

How refunds are processed

Purchases are processed by Polar, the merchant of record.

Once approved, the refund is processed through Polar using the payment infrastructure associated with your purchase.

Where supported by the payment method and processor, the refund will be returned to the original payment method.

Processing times after a refund has been issued can vary depending on the bank, card network or payment provider.

There is no Benny Tools change-of-mind window

I do not impose a separate 7-day, 14-day or 30-day Benny Tools refund window.

If you genuinely bought something and it was not what you expected, ask.

Any refund is still subject to the technical and administrative capabilities of Polar and the relevant payment provider.

Fair use

A generous refund policy works when everyone is reasonable about it.

The Ask and you get one policy is intended for genuine purchases where the product did not meet your expectations.

It is not intended to create a free download system.

I may decline the voluntary refund guarantee where there is clear evidence of abuse, fraud or a repeated pattern such as:

  • repeatedly buying products, downloading or copying them, and immediately requesting refunds;
  • purchasing multiple products with an apparent intention to obtain the files without paying for them;
  • sharing, reselling or redistributing a product and then requesting a refund;
  • manipulating chargebacks or payment disputes;
  • using multiple accounts to circumvent previous restrictions; or
  • otherwise deliberately exploiting the refund policy.

A single refund is not abuse.

Buying something, trying it and deciding it is not right for you is not abuse.

Even requesting refunds on more than one occasion is not automatically abuse.

This clause exists for obvious, deliberate patterns of misuse, not to give me an excuse to argue with someone over a refund.

Australian Consumer Law

This refund policy is in addition to, not instead of, any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

Australian consumers may have statutory rights to a refund, replacement, repair, resupply or other remedy where consumer guarantees are not met.

Those rights cannot be excluded by this policy.

The fair-use provisions above only apply to the additional voluntary Benny Tools refund promise. They do not limit a refund or other remedy that you are legally entitled to receive.

Questions

If something went wrong, contact me through Your Purchases.

I would rather hear why a tool missed the mark than keep money from somebody who wishes they had not bought it.
